What you’ll take out
Barbering is an art form which is highly sought after in New Zealand and abroad, whether you want to have your own barbershop, gain employment or work overseas.
You will develop your scissor, clipper and fade techniques and learn how to use an open blade for the closest, sharpest shave as well as designing and shaping beards and mustaches. Add in client consultations and men’s grooming product recommendations and you have all the classics to prepare yourself for work on the barbershop floor.

Overview
Our tutors have years of barbering experience and a true passion for the industry. You will develop your skills in scissor, clipper and razor cutting as well as cutthroat shaving, tapered fades and the classics to work on the barbershop floor.

Eligibility
To be eligible for the New Zealand Certificate in Commercial Barbering Level 4 Course, you must:
- Be a New Zealand citizen, or have 3 or more years of permanent residence in New Zealand
- Be formally exempted from school if you are 15 years old
- Passion for the industry
