Years in the Hairdressing Industry: Twenty Years.

What is your favorite thing about the Hairdressing Industry?
Our industry is always changing and evolving. The movement in which the trends change, is fast paced and exciting!

What is one of your Hairdressing best moments?
Winning Awards in Hairdressing competitions have always been a high point for me. I love competing in Hairdressing Competitions. I have been very fortunate over the years to work alongside some amazing Stylists.

Before becoming a Tutor, what we you doing?
Before joining Premier Institute of Education my background was as an Educator for De Lorenzo in Melbourne Australia. I have traveled extensively with Hairdressing. I have worked and lived in the United Kingdom as well as Australia. I also spent some time upskilling in a High End Barber Shop as I wanted to learn more techniques that men are now asking for.

Who are your Hairdressing Inspirations?
Elizabeth Tedesco – I worked with Elizabeth as a guest artist when I was working for De Lorenzo. Elizabeth is well known for her Hair Ups in Melbourne. Elizabeth inspired me to step out of my comfort zone and push the boundaries!

If you could five one piece of advice for Hair over the Autumn Months, what would this be?
Platinum blondes and black/brown in long bobs, add touch of Gothic Drama to the season,
Deep Beveled fringes crown shapes that carry a slight wave through the ends.
The new volume is more about width than height, and whether its big waves or smooth and silky textures it looks touchable dramatic and feminine.

What do you love most about training up and coming Stylists?
What I love the most when teaching, is that ‘Light Bulb’ moment when things click into place for the Stylist and they get it. Nothing can beat the look on their faces when they do get it! It is always rewarding.

When I am not in the Academy – You will find me …
I love to keep fit. I enjoy cooking. I am a newly wed so spending time with my husband is always important, and of course, seeing our friends!

My favorite Restaurant is?
At home in Bistronamy, the owner trained under Heston Blumenthal. Which means the food is always exciting and fresh!

What advice can you give to someone who is looking at studying the Level 3 Salon Support and/or Level 4 Emerging Stylist Qualifications?
Go for it! If Hairdressing is your Passion, then follow it! Premier Institute of Education is a wonderful nurturing environment and you definitely will not regret it!
